Here is a rare matching shield and helmet from Japan’s Meiji Period, decoratd with the Hoxxxx xxxxxx. Dating between the 1880s and about 1910, this striking lacquered black and gold set is in good condition. Some chips to both shield and helmet. The shield has lost the holding straps and there is now a wire for suspension. Other than that, in admirable condition and a good investment that’s only going to improve as these items become even scarcer.
