French Officer’s Coat – Engineers

October 2, 2009
by Left Hand Dagger

This is a very fine 19th Century French Officer’s coat. The buttons show it to be Engineers, most likely a full lieutenant. The epaulettes are mising, but otherwise this is in very fine condition. Black wool, gitl buttons, and godd bullion rank markings. The inside lining is black silk, in mint condiiton. The label on the inside neck says “Master Tailor”. A rare and elegant example from over 100 years ago that looks like it was made yesterday.

AU $695
